WHALE WATCHING

Where the Southern Ocean meets wild beauty

Home | Explore & Sea | Whale Watching

Natures most majestic marine mammals

The Great Southern Region is celebrated for its abundant marine life, with its coastal waters serving as a prime location for whale watching during the annual migration season from May to October. Humpback, Southern Right and the rare Blue whales traverse these waters, often showcasing their might and elegance breaches and tail slaps. What enhances the whale watching experience in this area is the pristine beauty of the coastline. The rugged cliffs, unspoiled beaches and surrounding wilderness create a stunning backdrop for observing these magnificent marine mammals.

You can book a whale tour or enjoy the view from the shore at Cheynes Beach (Tourist Rocks) or Marine Drive, both of which offer excellent vantage points to witness these incredible creatures.
