Stirling Range National Park is home to the only major mountain range in the southern part of Western Australia, with rugged peaks rising over 1,000 metres above sea level. The range offers a challenging and spectacular hiking experience, attracting nature lovers, photographers and adventurers alike. Its Aboriginal name, Koi Kyenunu-ruff, meaning “mist rolling around the mountains”. The Stirling Range is also renowned for its remarkable biodiversity, including wildflowers found nowhere else on Earth.

Visitors can experience the power of the Southern Ocean via a raised pathway onto the viewing platform at The Gap, which stands 40 metres above the sea and offers some of the best coastal views in the region that will take your breath away. For those less comfortable with heights, the accessible pathway and viewing area at the adjacent Natural Bridge provides a less confronting experience and a dramatic window into one of Australia’s most exposed and dangerous coastlines, but in a more secure and accessible setting.

Recognised as Australia’s best beach by Tourism Australia’s Beach Ambassador in 2022, Misery Beach is nestled within Torndirrup National Park with crystal clear turquoise waters, powdery white beaches and a dramatic granite backdrop, it’s easy to see why it claimed the crown.  With new visitor facilities that include a viewing deck and seating area, the peaceful atmosphere and stunning natural beauty, truly makes it an ideal destination for swimming, snorkelling, wildlife and wildflowers or simply soaking up the serenity.​

The Granite Skywalk offers spectacular views across the Porongurup National Park, Albany, Mount Gardner, Mount Manypeaks and the Stirling Range to the north from two lookouts. This 2km walk up from the Castle Rock picnic area, passes through jarrah, marri and karri forest and through Balancing Rock to reach the base of Castle Rock and the lower lookout area.  ​The sky bridge is accessed via a ladder and provides thrills for visitors. It can be quite chilly in winter but is well worth the hike and you'll be rewarded with mother nature's miracles along the way.​

If you’re searching for the coastal trifecta, then Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve is the place to visit. This stunning reserve is home to three remarkable spots — the iconic Little Beach, the serene Waterfall Beach (also known as Tiny Beach) and the tranquil Lagoon. Little Beach is one of the most photographed beaches in Australia, celebrated for its picture perfect white sand, turquoise water and dramatic granite headlands. From the crystal clear water for swimming or an underwater world for snorkeling - it's a paradise for nature and marine lovers.​​

Explore the fascinating convict past at the Albany Convict Gaol as you look back to the era of the mid 1800s. The Albany Convict Gaol housed convicts sentenced to transportation from England between 1852-1868. Wander through the cell blocks reading the informative plaques about the colourful history and gain an understanding of the difficulties experienced by the convicts and prisoners. The Museum provides a variety of information from settlement, early explorers, a wonderful gallery of old photographs and so much more. This is a must visit!​
